Course Overview

Baseline Training, as part of the Corporate Protection Australia Group, offers this course for people who work or are seeking employment in the mining and emergency response sectors.

This qualification reflects the role of emergency response and rescue team members working in the resources and infrastructure industries, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts, which involve some discretion and judgment in selecting equipment, services, or contingency measures.

Units of Competency [14 Units]

Block 1 – Mining Induction | WHS & Risk (4 days)

  • RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
  • RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace
  • RIIRIS301E Apply risk management processes
  • RIIERR205D Apply initial first aid response
  • RIIERR301E Respond to work site incidents
  • HLTAID006 Provide advanced First Aid
  • HLTAID007 Provide advanced Resuscitation

 

Block 2 – HAZMAT including Operate Breathing Apparatus (4 days)

  • PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury
  • PMAWHS211 Prepare equipment for emergency response
  • PUAFIR207 Operate breathing apparatus open circuit
  • *PUAFIR306 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident
  • *PUAFIR324 Render hazardous materials incidents safe

 

Block 3 – Rescue Operations | Confined Space and Vertical (4 days)

  • *PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation (*HLTAID003 Entry requirement)
  • *PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue
  • PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescue

 

Block 4 – Rescue Operations | Emergency (4 days)

  • RIIERR302E Respond to local emergencies and incidents
  • RIIERR201E Conduct fire team operations
  • PUAFIR309 Operate Pumps

Additional Training Block (3 days)

  • *PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation (*HLTAID003 Entry requirement)
  • PUASAR024 Undertake road crash rescue

Course Cost

  • Full Course : $5,650 per person
  • RPL Application: $2,750 per person


Course Duration and Requirements

  • This course is delivered in 4 x Face to Face Training block
  • 16 Days Face to Face + Online theory component, where required (contact us for the full course schedule of dates)
  • Completion of a Workplace Logbook is required to demonstrate skills and knowledge relevant within the sector
  • Entry requirement – HLTAID003 Provide First Aid (within 3 years)
