Introduction:

This Advanced First Aid course provides a set of skills to provide an advanced first aid response in the event of an emergency. It is relevant for personnel who are the designated first aiders, particularly those working in construction, mining or any occupation involving hazardous work.

This course applies to candidates who are required to manage and provide an emergency first aid response in a workplace.
 
This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide advanced First Aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
  • A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment recognised by the Australian Qualifications Training Framework, for the following units of competency:
  • • HLTAID001 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • • HLTAID002 - Provide basic emergency life support
  • • HLTAID003 - Provide first aid
  • • HLTAID006 - Provide advanced first aid
  • NOTE: The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that refresher training is done every 3 years for the HLTAID003 Provide first aid and every 12 months for the HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Our 2 Day course requires learners to attend 100% of this first aid training and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.

Note: There is a physical component to this provide first aid course. Participants will be required to participate in role play activities, practical assessments and be able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
