Introduction:

Living, working, or traveling in remote areas of Australia brings enormous challenges; particularly in the event of a medical emergency.  There are many of us who venture into the outback or even just out our backdoor in the bush. 

Baseline Training offers Remote First Aid training to those who requiring the skills and knowledge that are necessary to competently provide life support and first aid in emergency situations where medical help may not be readily available, as in remote regions.

This course provides the knowledge and skills to perform first aid in remote situations where medical attention or assistance is delayed and the First Aider may be required to attend to an injured or ill person for an extended period due to inclement weather or geographical obstacles such as an isolated location or rough terrain.

The course provides students the skills and knowledge to provide First Aid response, life support and management of person(s), the incident and other First Aiders in remote situations until the arrival of medical or other assistance. 

 
  • Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following units:
  • • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • • HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
  • • HLTAID003 Provide first aid
  • • HLTAID005 Provide first aid in remote situations
  • NOTE: The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that refresher training is done every 3 years for the HLTAID003 Provide first aid and every 12 months for the HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The course gives students the skills and knowledge to provide First Aid response, life support and management of person(s), the incident and other First Aiders in remote situations until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
