Certificate III in Emergency Response Rescue – Ben Harwood

Baseline Training, as part of the Corporate Protection, offers RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response Rescue for people who work, or are seeking employment in the mining and emergency response sectors. This qualification reflects the role of emergency response and rescue team members working in the resources and infrastructure industries, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts, which involve some discretion and judgment in selecting equipment, services, or contingency measures.

One of our candidates, Ben Harwood has recently completed this qualification, and shares his experience in completing his Certificate with Baseline Training.

“My current role is an Emergency Mines Rescue/Security Officer at a Power Station and I am part of the Corporate Protection Australia Group Fire & Rescue Team.

I was impressed with the high level of hands-on experience and knowledge that the trainers passed on to me.  The practical facilities were great and provided an array of rescue scenarios to give me a better understanding of what type of rescue situations I may face in the future.  The trainers took the time to ensure that candidates understood clearly what was being taught before moving forward, and confirmed our understanding by re-visiting learning regularly.

I enjoyed the physical aspects of the practical training.  It is very important that an Emergency Services Officer is in good physical condition to be in a team that conducts rescues to preserve another humans’ life.

I am extremely lucky to be part of the Emergency Rescue Team, where I can put all the knowledge and skills into practice. We conduct scenario training 2-3 times a week and the client has an exceptionally high level of safety expectations of their employees and contractors.  This is reflected in the safe interactions between all departments onsite before any work is conducted onsite.

I would highly recommend anyone who is considering completing a Certificate III in Emergency Response Rescue to contact Baseline Training.”
