Candidate Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements specified within the CPP20218 qualification.

Baseline Training requires participants to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to or as part of the enrolment process to identify whether additional learning support may be required.

Participants should also have sufficient physical capacity to safely participate in practical security activities and scenario based assessments.

Queensland Security Licensing

Participants intending to work as an unarmed security officer or crowd controller in Queensland must meet the licensing requirements administered by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading.

Applicants for the relevant Queensland Class 1 Security Provider licence must generally:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide appropriate proof of identity
• Complete the required approved security training
• Undergo a criminal history check
• Complete fingerprinting requirements
• Meet the suitability requirements for holding a security licence

A recorded conviction for a disqualifying offence within the previous 10 years may prevent a person from obtaining a security licence.

Completion of the qualification does not automatically guarantee the granting of a security licence. Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet the current licensing requirements applicable to the security role in which they intend to work.
