Introduction:

Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely work at height or depth utilising various forms of fall protection.
 
This training is suitable for any personnel required to perform tasks from heights or depths and is compliant to AS/NZS1891 Industrial fall-arrest systems and devices. This course complies with the core training & assessment elements for a height safety operator.

• Report potential risks and hazards
• Consult with authorised personnel
• Comply with relevant documentation, policies and procedures
• Interpret and comply with equipment manufacturer’s instructions and specifications

PPE Requirements - Enclosed footwear, long pants and a sleeved shirt are required at Baseline Training courses. 



  • Pre-Requisite Unit - There are no formal entry requirements stipulated for this program
  • Fitness Requirement - Training and assessment involves moderate to high physical activity. Candidates are required to be able to freely walk, bend and twist, perform safe lifting techniques and be familiar with typical workplace risk and safety protocols
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills - Candidates must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills
Upon successful completion of this course, each candidate will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
 
By ensuring that workers and supervisors are trained at working from heights you can reduce the number of fall related accidents, injuries and deaths and provide a safer and more efficient working environment.

 


The assessments for this program have been designed to assess a person’s competence in accordance with the Resources & Infrastructure Industry Training Package, any relevant Legislation and the proprietary requirements of the organisation or workplace. The assessment will consist of both a written and practical components.  
 
• 1 Day course | Classroom based or onsite workplace training
• Delivery consists of face to face and practical simulations
