Introduction:

The Standard 11 Induction is the standard for meeting the health and safety obligation in the coal mining industry in Queensland. Its purpose is to assist to establish and maintain a training system that delivers competent, safe and efficient work teams.
 
The Standard 11 Mines Induction covers many of the safety requirements for working in the Mining Industry and will assist people who are working or looking for work in a Queensland mine.

Refresher Course:
Our refresher course are short duration training courses designed for workers/candidates who hold existing accredited competencies delivered by our full courses.

This course is designed for entry level through to experienced personnel working in the Coal Mining Industry.
 
The Standard 11 Mining Induction is a Queensland mining industry safety and induction course which provides candidates with the knowledge and skills required to work safely & effectively in the Coal Mining Industry. 
 
This course was developed in response to the introduction of ‘Recognised Standard 11’ which is a new Standard for meeting the health and safety obligations in the Coal Mining Industry in Queensland.

S84 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulations states it is a requirement that coal miners refresh training under the mine training scheme at least once in every five (5 years).
  • Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework
  • • Candidates refresh their knowledge surrounding their responsibilities regarding WHS and requirements surrounding the process and procedures relevant to a working mine
  • • Candidates gain first-hand experience from our trainers with extensive industry expertise and experience and work through a series of on-the-job scenarios
  • • This Skill Set can provide credit toward a number of Certificate II and III Qualifications in the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package including a Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue
The assessments for this program have been designed to assess a candidate’s competence in accordance with the relevant endorsed Training Packages, applicable Legislation & Australian Standards and the proprietary requirements of the organisation or workplace. The assessments will consist of both written and practical components to cover the criteria of the following units:

• RIIWHS201D Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
• RIIGOV201D Comply with site work processes/procedures 
• RIIRIS201D Conduct local risk control 
• RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace 
• RIIERR205D Apply initial response First Aid 
• RIIERR302E Respond to local emergencies and incidents

• Delivery can consist of online, face to face, and practical workplace simulations

  • Workers within Queensland who are new to the mining industry must complete a full Standard 11 induction program prior to the commencement of commencement of work.
