Introduction:

The Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course provides students will the skills and knowledge required to provide CPR‚ manage and assess an emergency situation, DRSABCD emergency response strategy, use of automatic external defibrillator and first aiders legal responsibilities.

All training provided is in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

This course is designed for candidates who may require CPR training first aid training as part of their workplace requirements as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
 
This course is designed also for candidates who wish to gain a good understanding of CPR‚ not only for those in the workplace, but also for anyone wishing to learn how to perform this essential life-saving skill at home or for sporting activities.
 
This unit is also suitable for General Practitioners who may be able to gain CPD points following completion. Please refer to your specific governing association.
 
Our highly experienced facilitators will provide an in-depth practical education and experience on how to assess, manage and provide CPR.
  • Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following units:
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This course has a written and practical assessment component.  As an accredited training package, the requirement of this course that learners are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

This program includes:

• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

NOTE: The Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines [10.1] recommend that refresher training in CPR is completed every 12 months.

The Safe Work Australia | First Aid in the Workplace – Code of Practice [July 2019] recommends the frequency of training for First Aiders as refresher training in CPR should be carried out annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years.
