Security Operations Training
Professional Security Officers are charged with protecting people and property from harmful events, such as theft, vandalism and emergencies, fire or natural occurrences.
The property to be protected may include buildings and perimeters, company assets, information and security footage. This work is typically carried out by patrolling, monitoring, observing and reporting.
Before an incident occurs prevention and deterrence are the primary goals.
Professional Security Officers support a safe work place and a secure facility and Security Officers are traditionally the first point of contact for visitors, employees, or customers.
A good Security Officer’s skills include good communication skills, clear directions, professional presentation, ethical behavior, following procedures during an emergency situation and following legislation in relation to being a Security Officer.

Security Operations Courses
This qualification will provide students with the skills, knowledge and competencies required to safely perform security operations in a range of different frontline operational environments. This course is designed to meet requirements for students seeking to apply for an unarmed Security Officer’s license in Queensland.
An unarmed Security Officer personally guards, patrols or watches another person’s property. They do this without a guard dog or weapon.
Candidate Enrolment Conditions:
To be eligible to apply for Security Providers Licence in Queensland:•
- Be 18 Year or older (you can enrol and complete training at the age of 17 and 9 months but cannot apply for your licence until you are 18)
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Visa to work in Australia.
- Not been convicted of a disqualifying offence in the past 10 years, where a conviction was recorded.
